Which bike box do I need?
We hire two professional Bike Box Alan cases — the roomier EasyFit and the lighter, more compact Premium. The right one comes down to your bike’s size, your handlebar width, and how confident you are packing it. Here’s how to choose, with the exact dimensions of each.
The EasyFit box — roomier, and far easier to pack
Bigger inside, the EasyFit suits TT and triathlon bikes, mountain bikes, and anything with wider or integrated handlebars — but it’s also the friendlier box for everyday road bikes. For handlebars up to 50 cm wide the bars stay on: you take off the wheels and pedals, drop the frame in, and strap it down. External size 133 × 94 × 50 cm. From £11.00/day.
The Premium box — lighter & more compact
The Premium is smaller and lighter to carry, and fits most standard road and gravel bikes. The trade-off is that it’s a tighter, more precise pack — the handlebars come off the stem and rest over the frame every time. External size 116 × 96 × 36 cm. From £7.10/day.
New to packing? Choose the EasyFit
If you’ve never boxed a bike before, the EasyFit is much, much easier. It’s roomier and far more forgiving, and for most bikes you don’t even need to remove your handlebars — just the wheels and pedals. The Premium packs smaller and lighter, but it’s a more fiddly job and the bars always come off. Experienced packers are happy with either; first-timers should lean EasyFit.

Which bike box is easiest to pack?
The EasyFit. It’s roomier and more forgiving, and for handlebars up to 50 cm wide they stay on — you only remove the wheels and pedals. The Premium is lighter and more compact but a tighter pack, and the handlebars always come off. If it’s your first time, go EasyFit.
What bike box do I need for a TT or triathlon bike?
The EasyFit box. TT and triathlon bikes have wider, deeper cockpits and extensions, so they need the roomier EasyFit rather than the Premium.
Will a mountain bike fit in a bike box?
Yes — choose the EasyFit box, which is roomier and designed for wider bars and larger frames. You’ll still remove the wheels and pedals to pack it.
What if my handlebars are wider than 50 cm?
Go with the EasyFit and take the handlebars off the stem to pack them alongside the frame — our EasyFit packing guide has a dedicated bars-off path for exactly this.
