Packing disk brakes into a bike box Alan

Since the Bike Box Alan Premium was designed for packing bikes with rim brakes lots of people ask can you pack a bike box Alan premium with disk brakes. The answer is yes, but it is not as straight forward.

Removing the disk brakes is an option however this might not be possible. Many cyclists have their own experience and advice of packing their bike. Some adopt the same technique as the rim brakes and secure with the quick release. Some simply let the wheels rest securely loose on the foam.

Next point to check is making sure there is nothing in the base of the box that will push into the disk, important note with the Premium Bike Box Alan is the handlebar placement. I always recommend doing a test fit with the boxes so nothing is putting a great deal of pressure on the components of the bike.

Finally, get some cardboard or plastic and put between the brake pads and secure it with some tape.
